A new perspective for education at the Memorial. Adaptation work has been completed at the new seat of the Education Center.

The project for the conversion of the historical building of the so-called Old Theatre into the new seat of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust was officially completed on 3 October after several years of efforts and more than two years of construction and conservation work.

“Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at Authentic Memorial Sites. Current Status and Future Prospects” is a new publication by the Auschwitz Museum. It is a summary of the international conference which was held in Oświęcim on 10-12 November 2018.

Volunteers of the Memorial honoured with the awards “If Not for Those Ten... ”

At the 72nd anniversary of creation of the Museum at the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, volunteers and representatives of institutions supporting voluntary work at the Memorial were honoured with the awards “If Not for Those Ten...”. Among them there were persons from Poland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Russia, the United States, Japan.

Seminar in collaboration with the academic centre for oral history in Voronezh

The International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust has organised for the seventh time, in cooperation with the Academic Centre for Oral History in Voronezh, a seminar for teachers and educators from Russia entitled “Auschwitz - history and symbol” The project, which took place between 15 and 18 April 2019, involved 22 people from different Russian cities.

ICEAH seminar in Ukraine for Polish teachers and educators

"Studying the Holocaust for the development of an atmosphere of tolerance" is the title of a seminar addressed to Polish educators, held on 24-29 March 2019 in the Dniepr and Kiev. It was attended by 22 people, teachers and guide (educators) of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

The International  Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust conducts educational activities in cooperation with Polish and foreign institutions, as well as partner organizations, dealing with issues related to the activities of the Museum.

The cooperation consists of, among others, the following: carrying out joint ventures in the area of training of teachers, students, and educational workers, also training guides who work at memorial sites in Poland and abroad, organizing international workshops, seminars, conferences and in conducting other educational activities.
