One cannot understand the modern world without a thorough knowledge of the history of the Nazi German concentration camp, Auschwitz. Students and academic youth can take advantage of educational programs prepared by ICEAH.

Educational work shapes the individual and collective memory of Auschwitz. ICEAH organizes postgraduate studies, seminars, conferences, and also prepares publications supporting educators in the proper preparation of young people for a visit to the Memorial.

Education in the authentic space of the former camp gives the opportunity to reflect and debate on many universal topics, significant in the process of civic education. Therefore, the activity of ICEAH is also addressed to various professional and social groups.

Cooperation between the Auschwitz Museum and the International Memorial from Russia in the field of education

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum and the International Memorial from Russia will cooperate in the fields of education and the culture of remembrance, as well as in the development of research on the history associated mainly with the fate of Soviet prisoners of war in Auschwitz. A special agreement was signed by the Museum director Dr. Piotr Cywiński and Memorial director Elena Żemkowa.

The history of sports and the fate of sportspeople in the German Nazi camp Auschwitz will be the subject of an online educational session on 25 November 2021 organised by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. The meeting will be translated simultaneously into English and Russian.

Norway supports education at the Memorial

Norwegian Ambassador to Poland Anders Eide visited the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum on 11 November. During the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Norwegian party, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, and the Auschwitz Museum.

The 11th session of the International Committee of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation took place on October 27, at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in Warsaw, with the attendance of representatives of the donor nations supporting the Foundation’s Perpetual Fund.

Conservation of wooden residential and sanitary barracks at the former camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau

Work has been completed on residential barracks number 14, located in the men's quarantine section (BIIa), as part of the project to preserve wooden barracks at the former German Nazi camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau. The next stage of the project is the conservation of the wooden sanitary barrack located at the site. The works are financed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation.
